All classes continue throughout the school year but are billed on a monthly basis. Tuition is $200 per 4-week month.

Class descriptions

Bridge: Tools for Middle School and Bridge:Tools for High School help students in all subjects. Ideal for students who are underperforming academically, need motivation, organization or time management help. As different needs arise during the school year, your child's teacher-mentor will evaluate and adjust the type of support your child receives during class each week.

Bridge classes also provide:

• direct instruction on difficult homework
• study coaching and planning tailored to your child's learning style
• strategies for choosing classes and working effectively with multiple teachers
• strategies for raising cognitive engagement and efficiency
• strategies for understanding, raising and maintaining grades
• activities to help students set goals and take actions to meet them

FLOW: For the Love of Writing gives students dynamic instruction and practice in academic writing. This is a critical area for upper grade performance, since grades in English, history and science classes often depend on major reports or essays.

FLOW also provides:

• direct instruction on planning, writing and revising academic essays and reports
• exposure to models of good work in many genres
• strategies for advanced spelling
• strategies for building vocabulary
• strategies for researching and taking notes, safe and efficient Internet searching
• lessons on avoiding plagiarism, understanding prompts, writing timed pieces
• strategies for planning and managing long-term projects
• time and support for school writing assignments
